Mesmerized by the multitudinous celebrations marking the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic revolution, Stephen Lendman observes that if the United States has never witnessed anything similar, it is because people who have nothing to celebrate "simply don’t get out and do it." Against a backdrop of US interference in Iran’s internal affairs, the author wonders whether gaining control of its entirely government-owned central bank may be one of the major factors driving Washington’s military agenda today.
Syria has been slated for regime change since at least 2002, when it was included in the "Axis of Evil" by the Bush Administration. In this context, Nazemroaya maintains that toppling the government in Damascus was the key objective of Israel’s ill-fated blitz on Lebanon in 2006. In geo-political terms, what Israel failed to achieve then is currently being attempted by NATO and the GCC through a low-intensity proxy war inside Syria itself.

While the likelihood of a conventional war against Syria has been swept aside by the Russian and Chinese double veto, Westerners have been left with no alternative plan. Above all, they do not know how to handle the conflict pitting them against the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO): Should they use diplomacy, or are they in a position to start a proxy war?
The answer to this question depends on the acceptance or denial of the decline of the U.S. empire. The war party is considering a form of low intensity conflict with militant groups operating from bases in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. Realists will not fail to point out that in such a case the war will spill beyond these three states and fatally engulf Israel.
In the absence of a defined strategy, each side is trying to consolidate its positions. The Syrian National Council is heading to Qatar in the hope of being recognized by the Gulf States as the sole representative of the Syrian people instead of the Syrian Arab (...)

At the forefront of the international stage, Turkey has called for the creation of a group of "Friends of Democratic Syria," modeled on the "Contact Group for Libya," while the Italian press ruminates over the possibilities of NATO indirect intervention. However, if such action were to take place, it would violate international law in the wake of the double veto Russia and China, and will therefore probably be discussed in secret.
Behind the scenes, there is another activity going on. The Russian delegation to Damascus has underwritten a secret agreement between several actors. According to our sources, the release of a certain number of Turkish prisoners of war and Iranian civilian hostages has been obtained. In return, Turkey would refrain from intervening in Syria and Iran would stop supporting rebel groups in Turkey.
The war plan against Syria having been frustrated, the West is seeking an alternative strategy. But already, some states have pulled out of the (...)

The Western press continues to dwell on the triumphant welcome given to the Russian delegation by the people in Damascus, but is at a loss to explain it. It fails to understand the reason for such a huge turnout or why the throng cheered Sergei Lavrov when it should have jeered him. Above all, it is outraged that anyone could prefer Russia to NATO, whose moral values it considers to be far more superior.
Several Western newspapers give prominence to internal criticism in Russia and China, the only reasonable voices in their opinion.
For its part, the Gulf press focuses on the recall of the ambassadors and observers.

Impotence, hypocrisy and Western division over Iran
The consecutive American messages about dialogue with Iran are accompanied by fierce threats seen in the corroboration of what the American administration is dubbing the sustainment of all the options on the table, in an attempt to give the impression that the war which was hinted to by the American and Israeli leader against Iran remained on the table, at a time when the economic sanctions aiming at increasing (...)

Editorial: Putin and the rise of the Russian power
The world is anticipating the Russian presidential elections, although their outcome has already been settled in favor of the return of Vladimir Putin to the presidency, in an event which will complete Kremlin’s exit from the state of retreat which was characterized by the humoring of the American unilateral hegemony project over the world.
Firstly, Russia, the old empire, which is still a superpower due to its (...)

Editorial: The Rise of the Iranian Power and the New Balances
The ongoing Iranian maneuvers in the Gulf region and what surrounded them on the front of the dispute between Tehran and Washington, carried a series of important signs pointing to the nature of the changes occurring at the level of the international balance of powers and the mutating equations throughout the Arab Islamic East, especially following the defeats which affected the adventure of the American empire (...)

Editorial: The defeat of the American empire
When the United States decided to invade and occupy Iraq, its government firstly adopted this step to impose unilateral hegemony over the world. The planners of this war based it on the intimidation of all the international powers competing with the US, while tearing apart the United Nations’ formula and all its foundations since its establishment, in terms of partnership in the (...)

The idea that the Bilderberg Group is behind the creation of a mysterious future World Government has been spreading for years. Having had access to the archives of this very secret club, Thierry Meyssan shows that this belief leads in a false direction, serving to mask the true identity and function of the Group. In reality, the Bilderberg Group is a creation of NATO. It aims to influence key leaders on a global scale and, through them, to manipulate public opinion to get it to embrace the ideas and actions of the Northern Atlantic Alliance.

Between 1947 and 1966 the Ford Foundation played a key role in the network of US interference in Europe through the subvention of magazines, scientific programs and non-communist left-wing organizations. The largest philanthropic organization in the world was in fact providing a respectful facade for CIA financial and contact operations. This role was even more possible by the fact that the same persons designed and directed both organizations. Below you will find the first part of our research on the cultural aspects of the Atlantic interventionism.

Communication sciences, whose development have been monitored by the CIA since the 50s, have been a key instrument in the “psychological warfare” waged against pro-Soviet governments and the countries that could follow the socialist block. Texas A&M University, the army and the secret services gathered information on “the enemy,” drew up NATO’s propaganda, prevented the emergence of liberation movements opposed to Washington and even served as torture advisers. Out of this “alliance between science and politics” a mechanism still used by the U.S. was created.
