Editorial: Killings, explosions and Qatar’s hysteria

When Washington takes a step backward while remaining along the course of escalation, hostility and intervention under the headline of guaranteeing the implementation of the Arab initiative and when Turkey carries out a similar retreat under the headline of calling on Iran to give advice to Syria, Washington wishes to pave the way before the recognition of reality and Turkey wants a role in the negotiations over the Iranian nuclear file. In the meantime, the level of Qatar’s hysteria is rising. Indeed, Qatar is caught between the failure to meet the commitments made to the Americans, the most prominent of which being the control over Syria’s squares through the Istanbul council, and the Iranian escalation in the Gulf where the American bases are at the heart of the confrontation. Qatar is thus going insane because a lot of funds, media outlets and intelligence efforts mobilized to organize the groups of sabotage went in vain. It is consequently heading towards killing via suicide bombers and targeting security symbols, whether important posts, convoys or stations for the anti-rioting forces. It is known that these lethal explosions are reaping the lives of ordinary citizens without any differentiation. This means:

That the clock is ticking and that the hidden cards are gradually losing their efficiency if they are not used.

That the wager is on the targeting of security to encourage the opposition to march to the squares.

That the wager is on turning the supporters of the regime against it in order to demand a settlement or carry out sectarian reactions that would encourage the slide toward civil war.

That the wager on the proclamation of the failure of the Arab observers’ mission and the introduction of internationalization has become a Qatari project which will be presented to the Arab League but requires a bloody justification.

That Qatari hysteria will not change anything on the ground despite the painful killing and the bitterness of blood.

News analysis : The resistance system and the axes of the counterattack

Based on the international and regional events, it is becoming clear that the new balances which ended with the creation of a global alliance opposed to American hegemony is becoming stronger following the American exit from Iraq, and has forced the American empire to adopt the strategy of small wars in its attempts to contain the failure.

Israel’s protection constitutes the cornerstone of the American efforts to seal deals with the leaders of the Islamic movements that came to power in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya, at a time when the American administration is exercising the highest level of commitment to the project of the Jewish state that aims at liquidating the Palestinian cause. Moreover, sectarian strife constitutes the most prominent course in the American policies and has been seen in the context of small wars led by David Petraeus, through the use of the factions of takfir and the groups specializing in killing, assassinations and sabotage, in parallel to the attempts to ensure a deal which was expressed by the intensive American presence in Cairo to launch the race between the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafi party over Israel’s consent, as a price to earn American political recognition.

In the meantime, the Americans are mobilizing all their agents in the Arab countries to escalate the pressures on Syria following the failure which affected the previous chapter of the plan to destroy the Syrian strength. This challenge forced the resistance and independence system in the region to act along the following axes:

1. Intensive political and media action to resist to culture of strife and the media of strife, as well as all the political, media, cultural and religious tools supported by the Americans whether directly or by proxy to activate the sensitivities and sectarian conflicts in the Arab world.

2. The liberation of Palestine and the settlement of the Palestinian cause constitute the decisive points of strength to which the resistance and independence system is linked. This requires the escalation of the political, intellectual and cultural position as well as the media performance based on the fact that the liberation of Palestine and the victory of its people are necessary conditions to ensure stability in the region.

3. The activation of the required work by the forces in Iraq and with the help of Syria and Iran to achieve Iraqi national reconciliation in the face of the plan that is currently being implemented under American supervision and with the participation of Turkey and Saudi Arabia to revive the divisions in Iraq via the Israeli Mossad and the Takfir factions led by Bandar Bin Sultan.

4. Immunize the Lebanese situation against the threat of strife and stringently deter all the attempts to interfere in Syria, carried out by the collaborators based on Jeffrey Feltman’s plan.

5. Mobilize all the energies and efforts without any exception at the level of the Arab and Islamic worlds in the context of a campaign headlined Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Resurrection, while enhancing solidarity with the Palestinian resistance factions in preparation for a third Palestinian intifada that would restore the initiative to the resistance system in the face of Judaization, the settlements and the Zionist project aiming at liquidating the Palestinian cause.

New analysis : Reading into the speech of President Assad

The speech delivered by President Bashar al-Assad at Damascus University was described as being a powerful speech with the recognition of some opponents who lamented their own status. At the level of the media handling the colonialist column which includes many mercenary journalists and platforms of slander and instigation, became confused and resorted as usual to lies and falsification to overcome its predicament. It thus shed light on what it claimed to be a determination to use the security solution and an attack against the Arab League, while some newspapers in Beirut and the Gulf came out with headlines whose writers intentionally disregarded the constitutional, political and economic plans proposed by President Al-Assad.
On the other hand, some Western newspapers shed light on the elements of strength featured in the speech, and noted the depth of the transformation in the course of events which pointed to a new stage in Syrian steadfastness and the failure of the pressures and the ongoing foreign interventions.

President Doctor Bashar al-Assad put forward what could be considered a national plan in the face of the challenges along two courses, i.e. the course of the war against terrorism and anarchy and the obstruction of the political, constitutional and economic reforms based on the interests and needs of the Syrian people and Syria’s national and pan-Arab identity.

Since last March, the opposition movements completely neglected any talk about national economy and its restructuring, while President Bashar al-Assad completed what he had adopted in terms of decisions at this level by stressing social justice in the context of the comprehensive reformatory reviewing of Syrian reality and what was caused by the policies of openness during the last few years. It is not odd that the agents of foreign intelligence apparatuses and mercenaries in Syria, Lebanon and the region avoided tackling the content of this national plan and renewed the talk about the security solution based on their silly equation which they consumed since last March in regard to the alleged disregarding of the political solution. The factions of terrorism and the gangs of armed anarchy that are carrying out killing, kidnapping, blackmail and theft constitute a threat to stability and to national economy. Hence, the liquidation of the pits of terrorism and chaos is the obligation of any state that respects its people, is committed to their interests and wishes to carry out its duties toward them.

The answer to chaos and anarchy resides in the Syrian national state’s offering of a chance to the misled and the implicated to recant their positions. This was expressed by the president in his talk about the pardon decision and about repentance. Al-Assad addressed the Syrians by confirming Syria’s Arab identity and national role and presenting an evolved perception of pan-Arabism, featuring all its religious and cultural components, also stressing the rejection of the idea of ethnic chauvinism which is preventing the expansion of the Arab League to include the numerous ethnicities living on Arab soil.

Reform in Syria currently seems to be the hostage of terrorism and chaos despite the determination of the state and president Al-Assad to expand participation in political life as soon as possible. Without its liberation from the gangs of sabotage and killing, the general climate in Syria will remain frail. The annihilation of this terrorism, which is demanded by the Syrians, will soon be seen as it was indicated by President Al-Assad, because the objective strategic factors composing the balance of powers and the equations domestically and abroad have started to mature and materialize, especially following the total political bankruptcy of the conflicting oppositions and the utter exposure of the goals of the colonial alliance that is seeking an opportunity to escalate the intervention in Syria at any price.

The Arab file

Syria
The Arab ministerial committee held a meeting in Cairo during which it discussed the first preliminary report drawn up by the head of the Arab observers’ team Mohammad Ahmad al-Dabi. Following the meeting, Qatar’s Foreign Minister Hamad Bin Jassem said: “We now have a vision about a specific date to announce the failure or success of the Arab mission in Syria.” He added: “The Security Council is not awaiting the Arab League’s transfer of the Syrian file to it.” In the meantime, Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi rejected the efforts deployed by Arab and western countries to pull out the observers and refused to consider that these observers’ mission had failed.
Syria’s permanent envoy at the Arab League, Ambassador Youssef al-Ahmad, responded to the statements of the Qatari foreign minister by saying that they reflected a position determined in advance towards the Syrian crisis, which did not go in line with Qatar’s position as the head of the Arab ministerial council and the Arab ministerial committee formed to tackle the situation in Syria.
On Saturday, a position issued by Prince Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and in which he called for the entry of Arab military forces into Syria to stop what he called the bloodshed, was extremely surprising, especially since no such request was made by the Syrian state. In the meantime, armed terrorist groups targeted a foreign media delegation and a gathering staged by the citizens in Homs and launched several mortar shells at them, thus leading to the martyrdom of 8 citizens and a French journalist and the injuring of a Belgian journalist and many Syrian civilians.

Iran
Iranian scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, who works at the Natanz nuclear site, was assassinated on Wednesday in a car explosion near a university in Tehran. Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi accused the United States and Israel of standing behind the attack which targeted the nuclear scientist, assuring that such acts will not halt the progress in this sector. For its part, the White House categorically denied any American involvement in the attack.

Israeli file
The Iranian nuclear file, the Israeli preparations to host Syrian refugees in the occupied Syrian Golan following the fall of the Syrian regime, the statements of Northern Command, Major General Gadi Eizenkott, the European document in regard to Zone C in the West Bank which accuses Israel of implementing a forced transfer in the region to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the two-state solution that enjoys international consensus, are all headlines that seized the attention of the Israeli press issued this week.

In the meantime, the Israeli government reached the conclusion that the lowering of the defense budget would be a grave mistake and decided to increase by around 700 million dollars. For his part, Gadi Eizenkott revealed that at the end of 2007, the Israeli army prepared for an attack carried out by Syria and Hezbollah following the Israeli air attack that targeted the Syrian Deir Ez-Zor site which Israel said was a nuclear facility and which it destroyed in September 2007. On the other hand, the papers tackled the phone call conducted by American President Barack Obama with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address the Iranian nuclear file, as the president confirmed the United States’ commitment to Israel’s security, indicating that Iran should pay the price for its abstinence to respect its international pledges.

News analysis : Al-Hoss’s question, the Muslim Brotherhood and Palestine

The question addressed by former Prime Minister Doctor Salim al-Hoss to the Muslim Brotherhood command in Egypt in regard to the Palestinian cause, the city of Jerusalem, the Palestinian people and their ongoing suffering inside and outside of occupied Palestine is the question which has been prevailing over the Arab countries and the world ever since the beginning of the emergence of media reports about some sort of a deal between the United States and the command of the Muslim Brotherhood international organization via Turkey. This deal was said to feature a tradeoff between the Americans’ acceptance of the MB’s presence in the political authority and the pledge by the MB to protect the Camp David accord. The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt features honest and free symbols such as former guide Mehdi Akef whose position of solidarity with the Gaza Strip and its people during the criminal Israeli war led by the United States was registered by the Palestinians and the Arabs.

Many are the tales regarding the conspiracy to exclude this noble man and his supporters from the MB organization, due to their rejection of the campaigns which targeted the leader of the Lebanese resistance at the time and were launched by a number of Egyptian opposition and loyalist figures to defend Hosni Mubarak. This is due to the fact that back then, the ousted Egyptian president constituted the spearhead of the conspiracy against Gaza, its people and fighters who achieved victory over the American-Israeli aggression despite the blockade.

On the other hand, discrepancy between the MB leaders and the organization’s youth was clear during the storming of the Israeli embassy. Indeed, instead of saluting these heroes, a number of MB leaders condemned them while describing the Israelis as being guests and speaking about the protection of the pledges of the predecessor, who in this case is Mubarak. Clearly, the political division over the position toward Camp David, the relations with Israel and the principle of dialogue with the Israeli ambassador in Cairo will be a critical point in the organizational life of the MB group in Egypt and at the level of the international organization. It is the obligation of all the honest people in this nation and all the resistance fighters to engage in a free and open discussion which a Lebanese honest pan-Arab leader such as Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss inaugurated with his question that features many meanings.

The reality that was confirmed by experience is that Palestine was and still is the central element based on which the fate of the entire region is determined. Moreover, Egypt which all the Arab citizens hope will rise stronger and more capable following the popular revolution it witnessed, cannot achieve that national role and that strategic awakening except through a doctrine of struggle against Israeli colonialism and the logic of liberation from, not adaptation to, American hegemony.

News analysis

Pressures and interferences surrounding Syria and the resistance.
The international and regional action in Lebanon is focusing on the activation of Jeffrey Feltman’s theory about Lebanon’s transformation into a platform for the intervention in Syria, through the establishment of camps to train the armed men, the transfer of arms and money and the expansion of the operations rooms established by Saad al-Hariri and Samir Geagea for the Syrian opposition movements since March. At the same time, Beirut hosted the head of the American Central Command, as well as United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon who was accompanied by Terje Roed-Larsen and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu whose talks focused on two key axes: pressuring the Lebanese authorities to protect and activate the plan to sabotage Syria starting from Lebanon and instigating against the Lebanese resistance and its weapons.

During his visit the UN secretary general called on the Lebanese to adopt steps that would lead to the protection of the interferences in domestic affairs, starting with the lie of harboring the refugees which constituted a political and media cover-up for the training camps and the armed men after the Washington Post revealed the presence of 500 armed men affiliated with the Syrian opposition movements in Lebanon. In parallel to his instigation to get involved in the plan to sabotage Syria, Ban Ki-Moon eluded the announcement of any position condemning Israel, its aggressions and threats despite what he heard from the Lebanese leaders with whom he met and despite what he knows through UNIFIL’s reports about the ongoing Israeli violation of Lebanese sovereignty, its continuous occupation of Lebanese territories and its obstruction of the implementation of resolution 1701. Ban Ki-Moon and his aide to the affairs of resolution 1559, Zionist agent Terje Roed-Larsen, focused on instigating against the Lebanese resistance and its weapons while knowing that the dialogue he spoke about to disarm the resistance is perceived by all the Lebanese - and with the recognition of America’s agents and small tools - as being carried out under the headline of the defensive strategy against Israel and on the basis that the resistance, the people and the army constitute the three pillars for the protection of Lebanon.

Yet, the UN secretary general - upon orders from his American masters - is demanding the removal of the strongest among these pillars while providing a cover to the Israeli aggression and instigating the Lebanese against Syria. As for the head of the American Central Command, his task which was surrounded with secrecy, is not distant from this claim that features conspiracies in the context of the urgent American wish to activate the pressures against Syria. Davutoglu’s visit to Beirut is also not distant from the efforts deployed by Jeffrey Feltman to further implicate the March 14 forces and Walid Jumblatt in Syrian affairs. While a few weeks ago, a Syrian official report was issued about the deterrence of armed groups that tried to infiltrate Syrian soil via the Turkish border, following which his master’s government, i.e. that of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, issued a statement eluding these claims and saying that Istanbul will not allow any armed groups to establish bases affecting the security of the neighboring states.
The Lebanese national forces embracing the resistance are required from their positions in the Cabinet to put forward these files and call on all the officials to express a stringent stand preventing anything from undermining against national security or the higher policies of the state. The state institutions and apparatuses should be cleansed from all those involved, starting with the media institutions and ending with senior employees who should be subjected to investigation. This is due to the fact that the disregarding of the current situation will cause the growth of a lethal tumor through which the Americans will detonate major strife inside our countries.

Lebanese file

On the 40-day anniversary of the commemoration of the death of Imam Hussein, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah assured: “In light of everything happening in the region and around the world and what we are hearing every day and every hour about American and Israeli threats made by America’s and Israel’s agents in the region, we say: Are you threatening us with death? We are the sons of Al-Hussein and Imam Zine el-Abidine. It is with this spirit that we have faced you since 1982 while we are still filling the squares.” He then addressed all the conspirators against this nation, its sanctities, people, wealth, religion and capabilities by saying: “Our men are on all fronts and in a country in which rejectionism has an axis and positions have their men.” He then indicated he felt pleased yesterday when he listened to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki- Moon’s speech when he said that he was concerned about Hezbollah’s strength, thus addressing him by stating: “Your concerns reassure and please us. What interests us is for America and Israel to be worried like you.
