Недавно госдепартамент США опубликовал ежегодный доклад о религиозной свободе в мире. Может показаться странным, что подобным вопросом интересуется государственная канцелярия, однако, интерес Соединенных Штатов к этой теме во многом объясняется тем, что они используют евангелические движения во всем мире в качестве оружия для расширения своего господства. Кроме того, при Буше власть евангелистов в американском госаппарате существенно возрасла.
Классифицируя страны по степени религиозной свободы их граждан, доклад странным образом совпадает с позицией США во внешней политике. В список стран, в которых религиозная свобода ущемлена, вошли традиционные враги или соперники «Америки»: Куба, Северная Корея, Китай…
Однако вызывают удивления выводы доклада в отношении Израиля (он вошел в список стран с предосудительной политикой и законодательством в отношении некоторых религий). В докладе говорится, что Израиль определяет себя как Еврейское государство, предоставляющее равные права своим гражданам, но в действительности мусульмане и христиане становятся жертвами социальной дискриминации при устройстве на работу, получении жилья и образования.
Наконец, в докладе также осуждаются Бельгия и Германия за свои законодательства, запрещающие создание сект.
