The Interactions of Nasrallah’s Speech

The press focused on the following ideas and stands that the speech of the leader of resistance expressed:
First, on the Lebanese level, the speech dealt with the essential issues in the Lebanese condition:
 1. The speech called for healing the wounds and discussing quietly the realities and data related to the recent developments, which resulted from al-Siniora government’s decisions.

 5. Nasrallah directly retaliated against the Saudi cabinet’s statement, which called for modifying the constitution to lay the foundation of Lebanon’s Arabhood saying that the Lebanese only need preventing foreign intervention.
 6. The speech stressed the unity of the opposition in dealing with the formation of the unity government and that the representation should be from all the sects even at the expense of Hizbullah’s share.
 7. The speech hailed the stands of the Druze and Sunni leaders, which prevented the schism.
 8. The speech stressed Hizbullah’s clinging to protecting a plural Lebanon. This was considered as retaliation against the press and political campaigns against the party.
 9. Nasrallah revealed a happy surprise concerning the captives saying progress was achieved in the indirect negotiations with Israel concerning the captives.
 10. Nasrallah considered Doha agreement as a victory for Lebanon.

Second, on the Arab level, the Arab press focused on the speech of Hassan Nasrallah, but the press of the Saudi royal family attacked the speech.
 1. The press focused on Nasrallah’s stand, which stresses supporting resistance in Iraq and his call for all the leaders of Iraq not to give up their country.

The Syrian satellite station said president Basharal-Assad received a message from the prince of Qatar who thanked him for his efforts that helped to reach Doha a agreement.

Lebanese Press

Ad-Diyar said the speech of taking the oath by president Michel Suleiman, and the speech of secretary general of Hizbullah, on the 8th anniversary of the liberation day, opened a new stage in Lebanon on the level of building the state pointing out that Nasrullah hailed the election of Suleiman and stressed that the resistance’s weaponry should not be used inside Lebanon

Television Stations’ News in Lebanon
