Hillary Clinton published an 8-page article in the last issue Foreign Policy Magazine. Therein, the U.S. Secretary of State explains that Washington will shift its commitments to focus on the Asia-Pacific zone, destined to become the leading economic region in the world.

The article was reviewed and corrected by her associates and the magazine’s editor. The title includes a pun: "America’s Pacific Century" (in this context, "pacific" refers to the area of the Pacific Ocean, but also to pacifism as opposed to the "Project for a New American Century" of the neo-conservatives).

The sub-title reads: "The Future of geopolitics in Asia will be decided, not Afghanistan or Iraq and the United States will be at the center of the action" (sic).

The question to be put to Ms. Clinton is: where then are Afghanistan and Iraq, if not in Asia?
