Security Council refuses to condemn attack against own peacekeepers

+

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Twitter that he "fails to understand the position" of the Western Security Council members who refused to condemn the 15 August 2012 bomb attack behind the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus used by the UN observer mission in Syria.

This is the first time in the history of the Organization that the Security Council refuses to condemn a terrorist act against its own observers.

See Thierry Meyssan’s column, "The West and the glorification of terrorism", Voltaire Network, 1 August 2012. This text was published by several major newspapers around the world, including Komsomolskaya Pravda for the Russian version.
