On April 28, 2013 the Iraqi Communication and Media Commission (CMC) has banned 10 television channels for "promoting violence."
They have in common that they are all Sunni and opposed to the government of Nouri al-Maliki. They are all Iraqi, except for Qatar-based Al-Jazeera. It is a fact that they abetted sectarian violence through their coverage of a recent wave of unrest in Iraq.
They are:
– Baghdad
– Al-Sharkia
– Al-Sharlia news
– Al-Babilia
– Salah Al-Deen
– Al-Anwar 2
– Al-Taghyiir
– Al-Falouga
– Al-Jazeera
– Al-Gharbia
