Rozana Radio kicked off its broadcasts to Syria, 27 June 2013, from Paris.

The radio is funded by Denmark, acting on NATO’s behalf (the current NATO Secretary General was Minister of State in Denmark). It is he who directly pays the radio station employees.

The aforementioned persons were trained by Canal France International, a subsidiary of France Télévisions which is funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The radio started out with cautiously-selected programs, whose tone differs considerably from that of other Arab stations.
