Condemnation of Al Qaeda number 2 in Russia

The South-Caucasus military tribunal (Russia) condemned, on October 15th 2013, Ali Tatziev to two sentences of life imprisonment.

Designated successor to Shamil Basayev, Ali Taziev (a.k.a. ’’emir Mangas’’) was second in command of the Caucasus branch of Al Qaeda, led by Dokka Umarov.

There are two distinct independent organizations in the Caucasus : the "Itchkeria Republic" of Ahmed Zakaïev (based in London) and the Caucasus Emirate of Dokka Umarov. The first is sponsored by the Anglo-American services, the second by the Saudis.
