Jens Stoltenberg, next NATO secretary-general

+

The Atlantic Council appointed Jens Stoltenberg as the next Secretary General of NATO. He will take office on 1 October 2014.

Jens Stoltenberg was Labour Prime Minister of Norway (2000-01 and 2005-13). He is the son of Thorvald Stoltenberg, who served as Minister of Defence and Minister of Foreign Affairs and protector of the Gladio stay-behind network in his country.

Jens Stoltenberg was Prime Minister at the time of the 22 July 2011 massacre. His offices were targeted by an attack. The entire incident was attributed to Anders Behring Breivik, who claimed in court to be a member of Gladio.
