The French Press has just discovered why the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya funded Nicolas Sarkozy’s presidential electoral campaign in 2007. Sarkozy had given his word to getting the French Courts to overrule the sentence imposed on the Head of the Libyan Secret Services (Abdallah Senussi, brother-in-law of Muammar Gadaffi) to life imprisonment.

During the war with Chad, in 1989, Senussi had organized the attack on the TWA flight DC-10. Result: 171 dead. Senussi did not deny the facts, but considered that he was not criminally responsible for an act of war between two states.

According to an inquiry led by Karl Laske and Fabrice Arfi, published on 21 June by Mediapart, the option to overturn this sentence was probably envisaged as early as 2005 by Thierry Herzog (the lawyer for Nicolas Sarkozy) and Francis Szpiner (lawyer for the families of the victims). This is testified by a Libyan document.

Apart from the participation of the two lawyers, this story says nothing new. Thierry Meyssan has already exposed the facts at pp. 26 and 27 of his book Sous nos yeux. Du 11-Septembre à Donald Trump, published a year ago by Demi-Lune [1]. Although the French journalists have not read it, Voltaire Network can confirm that this testimony had already been produced to the Prosecutor.

The way in which this “scoop” is orchestrated today might suggest that it actually aims at hiding another aspect of illegal financing in the Sarkozy Campaign.
