During an attack on a local television station on 27 June 2012, an armed opposition group gunned down three Syrian journalists and four guards.
Our colleagues Sami Abu Amin, Mohammad Zeid and Chammah Kohl worked for the Al-Ikhbariya satellite TV channel.
Voltaire Network wholeheartedly shares the grief of the victims’ families.
On 12 June, two journalists from the same channel had already been wounded in Al-Haffah in the governorate of Lattakia, when their car came under fire.

French NGO Reporters Without Borders did not include Honduras in its 2010 list of Worst Predators of Press Freedom, released on 3 May on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day. The pro-US NGO maintains that no link between the murders and the political climate has been established and that the current government is democratic.
On 28 June 2009 a military coup, orchestrated by the United States, toppled elected President Manuel Zelaya and put Roberto Micheletti in power. On 29 (...)

Voltaire Network has systematically exposed the financial ties between French-based NGO Reporters Without Borders and US Government/CIA front organizations. Officially devoted to "freedom of the press", RWB is best known for its smear campaigns against Washington’s political foes like Cuba and Venezuela. RWB has recently added five new names to its "evil guys list", who also happen to fit in with Washington’s destabilization agenda. F. William Engdhal examines the money trail underpinning RWB’s activities in the shadow of US strategic interests.

A hidden camera report, which was given widespread coverage by western television networks, shows the Melia Cohíba Hotel management in Havana prohibiting internet acces to Cuban nationals and reserving it for the exclusive use of its customers. This report was exploited by Reporters Without Borders in their campaign against political censorship by the Castro regime. However, there is only one problem: this clearly concocted scene is contradicted by other documents quoted by the same pseudo-NGO.

With the advent of a new U.S. Administration and the appointment of a new director, one would have expected Reporters Without Borders to desist from their propaganda campaign against Venezuela and Cuba. But nothing of the sort. Salim Lamrani relates the latest episode of this never ending war.

British press baron Lord Northcliff said, "News is something that someone, somewhere wants to keep secret, everything else is advertising." If this is true, then U.S. government funding of Reporters Without Borders must be news, because the organization and its friends in Washington have gone to extraordinary lengths to cover it up.

The silence kept by the «freedom-of-the-press» Reporters without border (RSF) organization about Sudanese journalist Sami al Hajj raises many questions on the impartiality of that association headed by Robert Menard. RSF, which is always willing to stigmatize- usually arbitrarily- those countries targeted by Washington such as Cuba, Venezuela and China, has fully ignored the torture suffered by Al Hajj, a journalist with Qatar’s Al Jazeera TV chain .

French NGO Reporters without borders, dedicated to the defense of press freedom, is today at the center of a controversy. To some people, it is an efficient vector for freedom in the world, but to others – and we are among those – it has evolved into a transmission cable for the State Department, and it is instrumenting a cause to support the United States’ strategy. Salim Lamrani, researcher at the Sorbonne university, looks into the details of accusations and answers, before unveiling the extent of the deception.
