Netanyahu’s cabinet asked Israeli company Global CST to come to the rescue of Colonel Khadafi’s friendly regime.

Global CST intends to recruit and deliver up to 50 000 mercenaries, a seemingly very ambitious plan.

Global CST had supervised Georgian forces during the attack on South Ossetia, organized the release of Ingrid Betancourt from the FARC prisoner, and has been training special forces against the Peruvian Shining Path guerillas.

A former ally of Egyptian President Nasser, Colonel Qaddafi has for many years indulged in a devious double game, at the risk of alienating himself from both sides at the same time. He flaunted an ultra-radical rhetoric against U.S. imperialism and Zionism, while often serving their interests, including that of executing orderd to liquidate some of their main opponents (for example the Iranian-Lebanese Moussa Sadr or the Sudanese Abdel Khaliq Mahjoub). He has never taken any direct action against Israel and has formally been reconciled with Washington since 2003.
