In an exclusive phone conversation with the TV chain Telesur,
Venezuelan lawyer for the extradition of Posada Carriles, Jose
Pertierra confirmed that the international terrorist Luis Posada
Carriles had been release and he was on his way to his wife’s home in
Miami, Florida.

On Thursday, US justice decided to release Posada Carriles, the
mastermind of the 1976 bombing of a Cubana airliner off the coasts of
Barbados, which claim 73 innocent lives. He also planned other
terrorist attacks against Cuba.

The international terrorist was freed Friday after signing the
documents relevant to his release on bail at a court in El Paso and
after paying a 355-thousand-dollar fine.

Posada Carriles, 79, is wanted in Venezuela for the bombing of the
Cubana airliner in 1976. He is also charged with participation in bomb
attempts against Cuban hotels in 1997, and several life attempts
against Cuban President Fidel Castro.

Last Wednesday, the New Orleans Court of Appeals 18 District favored
the release on bail of Posada after Federal judge Kathleen Cardone
granted Posada his release on bail April 6, on a 350 thousand dollar
bond for migration fraud and false testimony. However, the decision was
repealed by the New Orleans Court of Appeal 5th District on April 12.

Despite the extradition request by Venezuela, which has been supported
by different sectors of the international community and the United
States, US authorities decided to release the international terrorist
on bail, Telesur said.

US democrat senator Dennis Kucinich sent a letter to US Attorney
General Alberto Gonzalez urging judicial authorities to proceed with
the extradition request against Luis Posada Carriles.
