An Event and a Regional Trend

The pledges that the Israeli occupation authorities forced members of Al-Aqsa battalions and the released prisoners to sign in return for stopping chasing or arresting and killing them reveal the reality of what Israel tries to impose in the occupied lands.
In these atmospheres, the press circles posed questions on the return of secretary of the Democratic Front for the liberation of Palestine (DFLP) Nayef Hawatmeh to the West Bank, and on the front’s bias to Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas in his battle against Hamas, although Hawatmeh is known recently for his moderate stands towards the different Palestinian factions.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation authorities continue the assassination operations against resistance men from all the factions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, while Fatah is witnessesing a conflict between Abu Mazen / Salam Fayyad team and a group of Fatah’s historic leaders, including Hani Al-Hassan, at a time when the destiny of the resistance factions from Fatah bases, which played a distinguished role in confronting the Israeli occupation, is jeopardized.

An Event and a Lebanese Trend

The results of the La Celle Saint-Cloud (Paris) Meeting deepened the stagnation of the political crisis in Lebanon despite the optimistic tone of the French mediator, who said that the opposition and the loyals have agreed on continuing communication.
Analysts and observers recorded three distinguished features in the results of the meeting:
 1. Establishing official relations between Hezbollah and France through the meetings between the party’s delegation and high-ranking French officials in the French foreign ministry.
 2. The continuity of the French political steps, which strengthen France’s new political position in the area and Lebanon through playing as a mediator between the opposition and the loyals without bias, contrary to the previous French administration. This new stand requires, on the part of France, dealing with the US pressures that prevent France from being open to Damascus and cooperate with it in the regions’ hot files.
 3. The appearance of new beginnings for a qualitative movement in the parliamentary and political positions and stands through the Tripoli bloc’s declaration of its withdrawal from the alliance of the Parliamentary majority. This development is nominated to be an ice ball that may result in a new map for the Parliament, which coprises three major blocs: the Loyal, the opposition and the moderates, in the light of information which said a good number of the majority’s representatives are studying seriously after Tripoli bloc’s step, moving to a new bloc that occupies a place between the loyals and the opposition.
