One of the major squares of Paris, Place de la Concorde, by the Champs- Élysées, saw the third demonstration to demand the release from prison of Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernández, René González and Fernando González.

Likewise, during March and April, in other emblematic Parisian plazas, people carrying Cuban flags, images of Ernesto Che Guevara and the pictures of the Cuban Five, demanded justice for these men, who received overly harsh sentences after a biased trial in Miami.

In addition to regular demonstrations being organized in Paris and other French cities, public meetings are held Fridays in Arras, in the Nord Pas de Calais region.

Meanwhile in Athens, the 902 FM station dedicated a radio program to the Cuban Five, during which the current situation of their legal process was discussed, according to a news item on the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s web portal.

The broadcast came in anticipation of a rally to be held on May 26, convened by the Greek Free the Five Committee, the Marangopoulou Human Rights Foundation and the Cuban-Greece Friendship Association, among other solidarity-with-Cuba organizations.

On the other hand, the so-called Picket of Stockholm was reactivated in the Swedish capital, on this occasion to demand the release from prison of the Cuban Five, the lifting of Washington’s criminal blockade against Cuba, and the immediate closing of the illegally occupied Guantanamo Naval Base, on Cuban soil.

The Picket will also stage a street demonstration in solidarity with the people of Cuba, said Vania Ramírez, a member of the Free the Five Committee in that Scandinavian city.
