The Cuban youth demands the immediate release of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters held in US jails as the only way to make true justice, reads a statement published in the local Granma and Juventud Rebelde newspapers.
The decision by the US Supreme Court, at the request of Washington, not to review the case of our Five Heroes is a slap in the face of all of us who fight for a really respectful, fair world, free of terrorism, the statement reads.
The US administration which, harbors, protects and supports terrorists like Luis Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosch, uses its empty rhetoric in an effort to deceive the world, while its real policy responds to the interests of the mafia circles based in South Florida, the document denounces.
The document calls on youth and student organizations and on all good-will young people from around the world to join the struggle being waged by the Cuban youths in favor of truth, which is ridden rough over by those who make double standards a symbol of the discredited and shameful judicial system prevailing in the United States.
Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Rene Gonzalez and Gerardo Hernandez had infiltrated Florida-based ultra-right groups that have long records of terrorist attempts against the Cuban people. For that reason the Cuban Five were arrested and submitted to a biased judicial process and despite being innocent they were given extremely long and unfair sentences.
