Vietnam’s President Expresses His Condolences on Almeida’s Death

Nguyen Minh Triet, the Vietnamese president, sent a message to Raul Castro in which he highlights that Almeida was a firm friend of the Vietnamese people and contributed to the development of friendship and cooperation bonds between Cuba and his nation.

In Bolivia, the Coco and Inti Peredo Foundation –named after two brothers who were part of Che Guevara’s guerrilla in Ñancahuazú-, paid homage to the Commander of the Revolution. Among participants in the meeting was Senator Antonio Peredo, from the governmental Movement to Socialism.

Meanwhile, in Colombia, solidarity-with-Cuba organizations and important social, political and cultural personalities carried out a ceremony in honor of Almeida.

The General Secretary of Colombia’s Communist Party, Jaime Caicedo, and the Cuban ambassador to that country, Jose Perez Novoa, expressed their sorrow at the sad news.

In related news, Prensa Latina reported that in Moscow, local artists will sing some of Almeida’s songs during the presentation of a Russian-Spanish song book of Cuban boleros.
