As the USS Bataan arrived near the Libyan coast for an imminent invasion by allied forces, some of the personnel aboard the amphibious assault ship poured their feelings and angst into the official Facebook page.

Deeming that such a display would create an "operational vulnerability", the Navy abruptly closed the ship’s Facebook account.

The "Coalition of the willing" is preparing to disembark in Libya. To lend an appearance of legality to this military operation, the Coalition purports to be defending the civilian populations against the acts of violence at the hands of Colonel Gaddafi’s royal forces, in keeping with UN resolution 1973.
