Responding to a question from Meyer Habib, newly-elected French Parliament member (UDI) representing the French community in Israel (and vice-president of the CRIF), Minister for La Francophonie Yamina Benguigui, told the National Assembly that France would "favorably consider" a request from Tel Aviv to join the OIF.
