Invited by Damascus, a team of experts from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons arrived in Syria to investigate French allegations that Syrian government forces have used chlorine in recent months.

The inspectors - who did not receive from France the "evidence" that she claims to have - noted first off that the only chlorine-manufacturing factory in the country fell into rebel hands in August 2012 and was destroyed.

Inspectors have so far failed to find any witness of the acts asserted by France and the "armed opposition."

U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has meanwhile stated: " We’ve not seen any evidence of the specifics of that [French] statement."
