Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Tuesday, October 13, that "Those involved in bombing the Middle East do not seek peace, but oil."

Questioned on October 14, during the US State Department daily press briefing, spokesperson Jen Psakis insisted that the only goal of the Coalition and its partners was to fight against the threat of the Islamic Emirate.

Yet on the ground, despite the coalition airstrikes, the Islamic State - far from weakening - has been gathering strength. At the same time, in its monthly report the International Energy Agenca attests to the bombing of oil installations and a decrease of more than 75% in oil smuggling. [1] Mrs. Psakis declined to address these issues.
