According to George W. Bush, the capture of Abu Faraj al-Libbi, who was described as a «High Rank General», or an «important coordinator and planner in chief of the Al-Qaeda group», announced by the Pakistani service is «a decisive victory in the war against terrorism».
However, we had already shown in these pages the complete inconsistency between the actions of the Pakistani authority, more concerned with repressing those who oppose Musharraf’s regime than with capturing Ben Laden, and those of the U.S. service. All this clearly shows the way in which the governments at the service of Washington manipulate the war against terrorism. It is now Washington that manipulates the repression in Pakistan in order to persuade the skeptics about the «war against terrorism».
