The United States imposed new conditions for Russia’s incorporation to the WTO (World Trade Organization) during a meeting of the ad hoc working group of the organization that took place in Geneva on June 22, 2005. The American demands include a price increase of gas in the internal market and modifications in accounting balances of companies of mixed economy in order to evaluate and watch the Kremlin’s involvement in economy.
On the other hand, the United States favored Ukraine’s nomination to join the WTO before Russia as Washington counts on Ukraine to impose new conditions and to delay, even further, Russia’s incorporation.
