The nature of political communication, positively referred to as the
"art of persuasion" or negatively as "propaganda", has transmuted over
the course of the two World Wars. The British (Lord Baeverbrook and
Lord Northcliffe) were pioneers in creating a Ministry of Information,
elevating deception to the rank of military strategy. Their example
was followed first by the United States and subsequently by Germany
(Goebbels) and the USSR (Tchakotine).
In principle, what was permitted in the throes of war was not tolerated in time of peace. But the in-between status of the Cold War was exploited by the two blocks to develop competing propaganda systems in their respective areas of influence. In the 1970s, the Non-Aligned Movement attempted to restore freedom of information by challenging the monopolistic stranglehold of the press agencies. Their defiance was nipped in the bud when the United States and the United Kigdom pulled out of UNESCO.
At the end of the 80’s, with the USSR on the wane, the United States spread their media hegemony on a global scale. They introduced a new model of consumption: round-the-clock televised news and information imbued with their self-serving contents. The fast broadcasting pace allowed them to circumvent any verification by journalists and thus impose their own narrative of events.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the Anglo-American governments set up common tools of "global communication" aiming to coalesce news commentary with an emotional charge and mass conditioning gambits. An example of this occurred on the occasion of the year 2000, with the fear-mongering announcement by the White House of a gigantic computer bug.
The hoax was tagged with various stories about its foreseeable consequences together with useful safeguard tips. The stage setting, which was conveniently backed by a temporary United Nations agency by the name of International Y2K Cooperation Center (IY2KCC), allowed the United States to sell 200 billion dollars worth of software equipment, turning Bill Gates into the richest man on earth.

We resolutely deny the allegations of some Israeli media that Russian representatives have taken the remains of Eli Cohen, a secret agent working for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and executed in Damascus in 1965, out of Syria.
The motives for circulating such outright misinformation are unfathomable. Nor is it quite clear who masterminded it. We urge Israeli partners, including journalists, to display the most meticulous, professional and honest approach (...)
We noted a Twitter post of April 10 by UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, stating that it’s been over a year since Russia used the lethal Novichok agent in Salisbury, yet London hears nothing but denials from Russia, which allegedly objected to Novichok being added to the list of substances controlled by the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). It gets more cynical as you read on: “If they love Novichok so much, other countries will rightly worry about the next Salisbury.”
Although Russia is no (...)
Jürgen Cain Külbel is an ex-investigator for the criminal police of the Democratic Republic of Germany. He became a journalist after the reunification of Germany. He has managed to identify the author of the reports posted on the Bellingcat site which influenced the international police team tasked by Ukraine with establishing the cause of the destruction of Flight MH17. This amateur, who « found » evidence of Russian guilt which he claims to be « irrefutable », is in reality a musician, with no competence whatsoever in criminalistics.
We have taken note of the summary of the main conclusions from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the “purity” of the 2016 US presidential election, submitted by the US Department of Justice. The main conclusion, which is that Donald Trump’s election staff did not conspire with Russia – was to be expected. It is surprising, though, that it took 19 lawyers who were assisted by a team of 40 FBI agents, intelligence forensic accountants, and other professional staff, issued more (...)
In a report dated 1 March 2019, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) attests to the fact that were never any prohibited chemical substances in Douma (Syria) during the attack of 7 April 2018. The reprisal tripartite bombing (United States, France, United Kingdom) was therefore unjustified. This scandal is exactly identical to the story of the bogus Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. It will be followed by many other items of fake news as long as the West continues to trust their medias.
The Australian Judiciary has issued a gag order on anything being publishing relating to the George Pell matter.
Cardinal Pell was the former archbishop for Sidney and then became the Chief of the Secretariat for the Economy of Saint-Siège (that is, he was the Finance Minister for the State of the City of the Vatican and the Catholic Church). He was tried in Melbourne in December 2018 and convicted of paedophilia. He is due to be incarcerated.
About a 100 media organizations have received (...)
More than 150 states have registered for the conference on the adoption of the Global Pact for sure, orderly and regular migration of Marakesh [Note: the reference document in English is entitled Global Pact but the UN translates it as the World Pact].
In his introductory remarks, the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, took great pains to denounce the “false information” on the Pact. In particular, he emphasized that the text is not binding and it will not limit state sovereignty. (...)
For the third consecutive day, the Israeli defence forces are continuing operation “Northern Shield”. The project is under the command of the Head of the North Region, General Yoël Strick, and is being supervised by the Head of the General Staff, General Gadi Eizenkot.
Tsahal has declared that it discovered two of Hezbollah’s tunnels that penetrate into Israeli territory. The Permanent Representative of Israel to the UN, Ambassador Danny Danon, has denounced this as a violation of Resolution (...)
Just as NATO denounces the boarding of Ukrainian ships by Russia, without noting that they had violated its maritime space, so its Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, denounces the danger of Russian missiles. The principles of propaganda never change – avoid the context and distort the scale of the facts.
Facebook has accepted allowing French state officials to form part of its censorship committee. So announced French President, Emmanuel Macron.
This announcement was made at an International Forum on the Internet Governance held on 12 November 2018 at UNESCO (Paris). The agreement is that this arrangement between the French Government and Facebook will last for six months.
The fact that the censorship of the net might be controlled by a government even if through a platform like Facebook, (...)

On 11 May 2013, two cars that had been wired, exploded in Turkey at Reyhanlı (which borders with Syria), causing 51 fatalities and leaving 140 people injured. The Turkish government immediately accused Syria of organizing the attack and the AKP organized pogroms in the city against Syrian immigrants.
However Syria denied any involvement and the documents of the Turkish police published by the RedHack hackers provided evidence that the operation had been mounted under a false flag by the (...)
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, "a treacherous provocation is being filmed in the locality of Jisr al-Choghour to make believe that the Syrian army has used chemical weapons against civilians."
Radicals transported two cans of a chlorinated toxic substance to Jisr al-Choghour to make the setup of the attack more “realistic".
Filming crews from several Middle East TV stations and a regional representation of a major US channel arrived in the morning on September 11, 2018, to (...)
On 8 September 2018, the company YouTube (owned by the Internet giant Google) shut down the channels of the Syrian government including the channel of the Syrian President, the Syrian Minister of Defence as well as Sana, the Syrian government press agency.
YouTube has not given the reasons for its decision.
These channels have been around for several years. As they have different programs, the decision for this collective censure cannot be content-based. It must be exclusively based on (...)
Seven years after the beginning of the war against Syria, fought by proxy jihadist forces, the partisans of its destruction want to start again. And yet they have suffered a definite defeat on the ground, where the population, after a momentary hesitation, massively chose to support the Republic. This attempt to restart the war from the beginning can only be understood if its objective has evolved.
