Whereas H.E. Omer Hassan Ahmed El-Bashir, President of the Republic of Sudan was entrusted by the 32nd Extra-Ordinary Summit of IGAD on South Sudan, convened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 21st June 2018, to facilitate a second round of face-to-face discussion between H.E. Salva Kiir Miyardit and Dr. Riek Machar Teny to resolve the outstanding issues on governance and security arrangements,

South Sudan’s leaders need to set aside their dispute
In 2011, the world’s newest nation was born amid joyous celebrations. The international community welcomed South Sudan not just with cheers but also with promises of help. The hope and promise of that day are now at grave risk of being squandered if the nation’s leaders don’t at long last provide leadership.

The case of South Sudan is an exemplary illustration of the success of Israeli strategy in Africa. Relying on the armed forces of the United States, as in Iraq and Libya, the Hebrew state and its ally have been able to divide the country and thereby eject their most important commercial rival, China, from the part of Sudan richest in resources. Symbolically, the media promotion of this operation fell to the Hollywood actor, George Clooney, prodigal son and spokesperson for the marriage of convenience linking Israeli and American colonial interests.
