The US mid-term elections have been interpreted by the major medias in terms of the partisan divide between Republicans and Democrats. However, continuing his in-depth analysis of the social fabric, Thierry Meyssan sees a clear retreat of the Puritans faced with the Lutherans and the Catholics. Donald Trump’s political realignment, just as that of Richard Nixon before him, is close to succeeding.

After having observed Donald Trump’s historical references (the constitutional compromise of 1789, the examples of Andrew Jackson and Richard Nixon) and the way in which his partisans perceive his politics, Thierry Meyssan here analyses his anti-imperialist actions. The US President is not interested in taking a step back, but on the contrary, abandoning the interests of the transnational ruling class in order to develop the US national economy.

Elected for his promises to change the paradigm, President Trump continues to astonish all those who take him for an idiot. Yet all he is doing is implementing the ideas that he developed during his electoral campaign, thus taking his place in a political tradition which, although long neglected, is solidly anchored in US history. Leaving aside the President’s public relations communications, Thierry Meyssan analyses his acts as compared with his engagements.

It would be a serious error to judge President Trump by the criteria of the Washington ruling class, ignoring the History and the culture of the United States. It would also be an error to interpret his actions from the point of view of European thought. Indeed, his defence of the right to bear arms or the racist demonstrations in Charlottesville have nothing to with support for extremists, but exclusively the promotion of the Bill of Rights. Thierry Meyssan explains the train of thought that he represents, and draws up an assessment of his highly important economic, political and military realisations. He also questions the limits of US political thought and the risks of dismantling the « American Empire ».

By awarding itself the title of the « 4th Estate », the US Press has claimed equality with the three democratic Estates, although it is devoid of popular legitimacy. It is waging a vast campaign, both at home and abroad, to denigrate President Trump and provoke his destitution - a campaign which began on the very evening of his election, in other words before he even arrived at the White House. It won huge success amongst the Democrat electorate and in the allied states, whose population is convinced that the President of the United States is deranged. But Donald Trump’s electors are holding fast, and he is proving able to fight efficiently against poverty.

Contrary to what Western Press agencies are reporting and President Obama’s delivery in Egypt eight years ago, President Donald Trump did not deliver a speech on Islam during his trip to Saudi Arabia.
Recalling that his voyage which began in Saudi Arabia, the land of Islam’s holy places and would continue to Jerusalem, Bethlehem and the Vatican. He has called for the practice of tolerance and respect between the three religions of Abraham.
Focusing his discussion on the fight against (...)

Two weeks ago, Devin Nunes (the Representative for California), Chair of the Intelligence Committee of the House of Representatives confirmed that government agencies had “accidentally” listened to members of Donald Trump’s campaign team.
The immediate response of the Democratic Party was to try to mobilize the Republican representatives to remove and replace Nunes.
Now, according to the former prosecutor, Joseph diGenova interviewed by The Daily Caller, the names of those placed under wire (...)

Our previous articles concerning President Trump have caused some fierce reactions from our readers. Some of them have been wondering about the naïvety apparently displayed by Thierry Meyssan despite the warnings issued by the international Press and the accumulation of negative signals. Here is his response, well-reasoned as always.

Donald Trump refused to don the Presidential uniform of his predecessors, and dedicated his speech of investiture to mocking the System and announcing a change of paradigm. He has built his Security team around two themes – the eradication of Daesh and the opposition to 11 September – two characteristics which are aimed at putting an end to the process of globalisation.

Chief Justice Roberts,
President Carter,
President Clinton,
President Bush,
fellow Americans and people of the world,
thank you.
We the citizens of America have now joined a great national effort to rebuild our county and restore its promise for all our people.
Together we will determine the course of America for many, many years to come.
Together we will face challenges. We will confront hardships. But we will get the job done.
Every four years we gather on these steps to (...)

Having been elected more than two months ago and yet still not positioned in the White House, Donald Trump is not experiencing a “honeymoon period”. Quite on the contrary: he is the butt of an international campaign to take him down. The Europeans are climbing onto the bandwagon of their European masters and instead of fighting for their sovereignty, are now singing from the same hymn sheet as the Trump-bashers. Yet the reason for the wailing elites across the Pond is not patently obvious. …In the name of “democracy”, they are marching to protest the result of the elections.

Our site, Voltairenet.org, has been proving for a long time that it is possible to communicate on political subjects without having to suffer the anathema of the major medias, Donald Trump has now taken the road we opened and that many others have also taken. If you want news about the next US administration, don’t read the New York Times, which wastes its time with caricatures, but Internet sites like Breitbart.com. The President no longer answers questions from the grand Press, but communicates on twitter.com/realdonaldtrump.

While the Atlantist Press persists in projecting onto Donald Trump the artificial debates that Hillary Clinton imposed during the campaign, and while the calls to assassinate the elected President multiply, Trump is preparing to change the paradigm, and overthrow the Puritan ideology that has dominated his country for two centuries. But can he succeed?

Observing the US presidential electoral campaign, Thierry Meyssan analyses the resurgence of an old and weighty conflict of civilisation. Hillary Clinton has just declared that this election is not about programmes, but about the question «Who are the Americans?». It was not for reasons of his political programme that the Republican leaders have withdrawn their support from their candidate, Donald Trump, but because of his personal behaviour. According to Thierry Meyssan, until now, the United States was composed of migrants from different horizons who accepted to submit to the ideology of a particular community . This is the model which is in the process of breaking down, at the risk of shattering the country itself.

A lively controversy has blown up concerning the briefing of the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, by the office of the Director of National Intelligence. Contrary to tradition, Donald Trump spoke publicly about this meeting. He noted that judging by the body language of his interlocutors, he was able to conclude that they were not in the habit of being listened to very attentively by President Barack Obama.
Trump revealed of nothing of the contents of their talks. However, his remarks (...)

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump with his special adviser retired Army Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn.
The 2016 election affords the American people an urgently needed opportunity to make a long-overdue course correction in our national security posture and policy. As retired senior leaders of America’s military, we believe that such a change can only be made by someone who has not been deeply involved with, and substantially responsible for, the hollowing out of our military and the (...)

Thierry Meyssan analyses the political and electoral system of the United States. He believes that the only true issue of the Presidential election is the maintenance of power in the hands of the WASPs, which has never been contested since the Declaration of Independence. While Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton are the guarantors of this status, the candidacy of Donald Trump announces a profound upheaval of the system which will only occur once the Anglo-Saxons become the minority.
