17 June 2013Contrary to the claims of Antonis Samaras’ government, in 2012 Greece’s state broadcaster ERT boasted assets worth € 40.9 million.
Therefore, the financial argument given by the authorities to justify the corporation’s closure doesn’t hang together. The TV was closed on orders from the IMF for purely political reasons.
The State Council will decide today on the merits of the television and radio shutdown with regard to the harm inflicted on the employees and the Greek nation.
In the meantime, (...)

London, 16 June 2013
Question: First of all, to President Putin: the Prime Minister [David Cameron] has said in the past that those supporting President Assad have the blood of Syrian children on their hands. Given that Russia is arming one side in this conflict, is it not hypocritical to criticise those who want to arm the other side?
Vladimir Putin: With regards to the supplies of weapons (...)

13 June 2013According to the Lebanese daily As-Safir, the announcement by the Emir of Qatar that he is passing the reigns to his son Tamim was not prompted by the prince’s illness, but by U.S. pressure.
The United States seemingly "discovered" the micro-monarchy’s secret machinations involving jihadists in Syria, as well as a number of illegal financial transactions. Washington allegedly forced the monarch to resign, together with his prime minister, and imposed the choice of his son Tamim to succeed (...)

However, the magnitude of the armed groups’ defeat is such that supplying weapons to them will not make much difference. What the "rebels" need are men, but there aren’t many left who are prepared to see Syria and die.

12 June 2013Turkish PM Recep Erdogan clamped down on protesters because Turkey is a member of NATO and a US ally. If the police acted the same way in Belarus, British Foreign Secretary William Hague would have reported it to the UN—UK-based journalist, blogger and writer Neil Clark told RT.

9 June 2013Created during the Cold War, the United Nations disengagement observer force (UNDOF) do not allow for the participation of permanent members of the Security Council.

The SOHR gave an imaginary number of civilian casualties enabling the NATO and GCC press to cry foul.
Quite the contrary, the Syrian Arab (...)
