Good morning, everyone.
Thank you, Wang Xiyue, for that very kind introduction and those remarkable words, words that were your own. We’re blessed to have you here today.
Look, as a lot – as you said, a lot of people worked really hard to get you home. America never gives up. We never give in. We never leave anybody behind.
We work, every day and every hour – we will continue to do so – to bring back every American held hostage in Iran, all over – and all over the world back to their (...)

Good morning, everyone.
Thank you, Ambassador Gingrich, for that incredibly kind introduction. You’ve done wonderful work with this important symposium. I’m glad to be here for the second time.
To Your Eminence Cardinal Parolin, thank you for being here.
It’s great to see you again too, Archbishop Gallagher.
It’s wonderful to be with a lot of good friends, old friends.
I want to also welcome other members of the clergy, members of the diplomatic corps who are here as well, and all of the (...)

The United States Sanctions Rosneft Trading S.A. to Secure Venezuela’s Natural Resources
by
Mike Pompeo

On February 18, the United States took action to halt the former Maduro regime’s theft of Venezuela’s assets and continued usurpation of democracy by sanctioning Rosneft Trading S.A., a Swiss-incorporated, Russian-owned oil brokerage firm, for operating in Venezuela’s oil sector. Additionally, Rosneft Trading board chair and president Didier Casimiro, who also serves as Rosneft’s Vice President for Refining, Petrochemical, Commerce and Logistics, was designated for having acted or purported to (...)

Well, good morning, everyone. It’s great to be with you all.
Foreign dignitaries, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, members of Congress, who are with us here today, it’s my honor to be here this morning. It’s great to be back at the Munich Security Conference. I was just talking with some of the leaders. I’ve been here many times. I came here with Senator McCain. I came here as the CIA director. I’m also not new to Munich. If you’re looking for a good bierhalle from the late ‘80s, I (...)

MR GILLIGAN: This is all pretty elaborate, isn’t it? (Laughter.) Well, good morning. My name is Tom Gilligan. I am the director of the Hoover Institution. I want to – it’s my great pleasure to welcome you all to listen to a message from our chief diplomat from the United States.
I especially want to thank the students for being here, our future policy makers, for taking time to join us in this important dialogue.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Hoover Institution, we’re a (...)

Today the United States began the process to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. Per the terms of the Agreement, the United States submitted formal notification of its withdrawal to the United Nations. The withdrawal will take effect one year from delivery of the notification.
As noted in his June 1, 2017 remarks, President Trump made the decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement because of the unfair economic burden imposed on American workers, businesses, and taxpayers by U.S. (...)

Thank you. Thank you, Ambassador Gingrich. Archbishop Gallagher, it’s great to be with you again. You brought the lamp over just a little bit closer. You always bring a little more light into my world. (Laughter.) So thank you. Thank you for that.
Your Excellencies, members of the clergy, and ladies and gentlemen, it’s my great honor to be here today to truly mark an amazing 35 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and the Holy See.
I also want to welcome the many (...)

Good morning. Good morning, everyone. Thank you. Good morning. Thank you, Senator Lieberman, for inviting me back to address now for the second year in a row. Mark, it’s great to be with you as well. You guys got the comfy seats here this morning.
I also want to welcome a few special guests. As Senator Lieberman said, Minister al-Sabhan of Saudi Arabia; the ambassadors of Bahrain and Ambassador Dermer; Susan Azizadeh of the Iranian American Jewish Federation. (Applause.) Yeah, (...)

SECRETARY POMPEO: Sergey, thank you. Good afternoon. I want to first of all say that I appreciate President Putin and Prime* Minister Lavrov for hosting me today. Thank you, sir. We had a frank discussion about many issues, including many places where we disagree. The United States stands ready to find common ground with Russia, as long as the two of us can engage seriously on those issues.
We discussed, as Foreign Minister Lavrov said, many important topics. We talked about (...)

SECRETARY POMPEO: Thank you, Dan. Thank you all for joining me. I see you standing in the back. It’s like church, there’s empty pews in the front if you want to come up and grab a seat. I do think – is there anyone from the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association here? I’m pretty sure I’m the only former member to ever serve as Secretary of State, so you should put that right on the front of your web page. I think that’s legal.
Good evening, everyone, and thanks to you all for being here. I (...)

Good afternoon, everyone. Thanks for being here. I want to make some brief remarks about the situation, an update on the situation in Venezuela, an update on U.S. activity related to Venezuela. Over the past few days, Venezuelans have been thrown literally into darkness thanks to a massive electrical blackout. Patients awaiting treatment in hospitals are dying, food is rotting, telecommunication networks are entirely collapsing.
It’s worth spending just a minute on how we got here. (...)

Thank you very much. The United States is a friend of Venezuela and of the Venezuelan people. We have watched Venezuelans suffer for far too long. We know what they know, that the tyranny of the now defunct Maduro regime has far too long – for far too long choked the country and its citizens.
Yesterday, in solidarity with the Venezuelan people, and out of respect for Venezuelan democracy, the United States proudly recognized National Assembly President Juan Guaido as the interim president (...)
