For the “Washington Times”, the Pentagon still has plans for Syria

The Washington Times dated December 9, 2005, resorted to an old kind of litotes with its headline “Pentagon sticks with 2-war plan”. The article stated that the next four-year law military program will not contain the slightest change. Secretary Rumsfeld will stick to the options set out in 2001.
The news should then be that there will be no news. However, that was a headline on the “front page”. It is necessary to understand that the Pentagon is sticking to its plan despite the current debates about the possible withdrawal from Iraq: it is preparing to attack Syria while occupying Iraq … Above all, this deserves a “front page” headline.
