One of three vice-chiefs of the South Korean intelligence service and three other officers resigned after the press revealed they had forged documents in order to indict a person suspected of spying for the benefit of North Korea.

The Director of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), Nam Jae-joon, apologized and announced there would be a major overhaul of his service.
