Moscow (Russia) | 20 January 2013The war in Syria appears to be increasingly remote-controlled from abroad. Almost all states in the region seem to be involved to varying degrees, with Qatar providing the lion’s share of the funds going to the Free Syrian Army. However, the investment has generated disappointing returns. To avoid its funds from going up in smoke, Qatar has decided to dole them out on the basis of the actions carried out. As a result, the ASL began staging its most spectacular and deadly attacks to the detriment of its real military objectives.

The lies of those unable to destroy the Syrian strength
By Ghaleb KANDIL
Syria was never the center of the universe as much as it is today. All around the world, hundreds of pieces of information and thousands of reports, rumors, fabricated pictures and made up news are emerging via media networks that are shedding light on contradictory positions and statements of senior Western officials. At this level, the Russian government is finding itself forced to issue quasi (...)
31 May 2012Takfirists constitute a sectarian and extremely marginal strand of Sunni Islamism. They see heretics everywhere and consider that murdering them is legal. They lash out primarily against the Muslims around them, enjoining them to return to the fold.
In modern times, Takfirism resurged in Algeria where it was used by the Armed Islamic Group of Algeria (GIA) to plunge the country into civil war. Today it is backed by a faction of the Saudi royal family allied to the United States and Israel (...)

Firstly, the United States is maintaining many cards in the (...)

In this piece, Cuban journalist Dalia Gonzalez Delgado discusses the reasons behind the complacency shown by the "friends" of democracy and freedom towards the Kingdom of Bahrain.

1 July 2011At a recent meeting that discretely took place on the Molesworth NATO air base in the UK, Prince Turki al-Fayçal conveyed to his Anglo-American allies the official Saudi position with regard to the "Arab Spring."
In the first place, Riyad does not perceive the revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen and Bahrain as being color revolutions triggered by the U.S. It looks at them instead as popular movements instigated by Iran.

Middle East: Obama’s counter-revolutionby
Thierry Meyssan
Beirut (Lebanon) | 29 March 2011After some hesitation over how to respond to the Arab revolutions, the Obama administration has opted for the strong-arm solution as a means to rescue those vassals which can still be salvaged. As in the past, the task of leading the counter-revolution devolved upon Saudi Arabia. Riyad first succeeded in having its Libyan pawns recognized by the international community and later trampled over Bahrain, drowning the popular uprising in blood.
