29 April 2013After denying the reports coming out from the Val de Grâce Hospital (Paris), on 28 April 2013 the Qatari Al-Jazeera channel announced the death of Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, at the age of 76.
The channel has been endeavoring to foment an "Arab Spring" in Algeria since the fall of Muammar al-Gaddafi in Libya.
On 28 April, President Bouteflika was readmitted to the Paris hospital, following a transient ischemic attack (...)
Rome (Italy) | 24 January 2013It is too obvious that Western economic interests in Mali are not enough to explain France’s intervention there. Similarly, it is clear that islamism is not enough to explain vast terrorist action conducted simultaneously at an Algerian gas site. For Manlio Dinucci, this cocktail contains the classic ingredients of the strategy of tension. The target is Algeria, Mali is the rear base for the attack, and the islamists are a pretext for intervention.
Damascus (Syria) | 23 January 2013A long time in the making and announced by François Hollande six months in advance, the French intervention in Mali was portrayed as an emergency decision in response to dramatic developments. This scheme aims not only at seizing Mali’s gold and uranium, but more especially at paving the way for the destabilization of Algeria.

Tokyo (Japan) | 19 January 2013This incident in Algeria is of a quite despicable nature, and is absolutely impermissible. I believe this should be strongly condemned.
Since the occurrence of this incident, the government has been making every effort in an approach that puts top priority on saving people’s lives.
Although I was visiting Southeast Asian countries, I was constantly receiving reports and giving necessary instructions in succession. The government has been making every effort to confirm the safety of and (...)
6 September 2011A spokesman for Libya’s NTC called Algeria’s refusal to recognize the NTC and their acceptance of Gaddafi’s close relatives "acts of aggression against the Libyan people".
Another sign of the nature of the Libyan rebel NTC is their unfounded arrogance against Algeria. After alleged atrocities against African citizens and their failure to at least give assurances of their safety and fair treatment they think they can intimidate Algeria.
The position of Algeria which has a very long border (...)
From colonisation to interference
For Ahmed Ben Bella, the liberation of the people in the South is still unachievedby

9 May 2006While a debate is underway in France on the benefits of colonisation and responsibility of Arabs in the digression of their societies, the former Algerian president Ahmed Ben Bella recalls several historical truths: the illegitimacy of one people dominating over another - that took place formerly in Algeria and today in Palestine; the global reality, and not an Arab one, of colonisation and the struggle for national liberty; Western interference by overthrowing nationalist governments and revolutionaries in countries in the south of the world; and maintaining the aftermath of colonisation. He emphasizes that today, it’s the Christian Evangelical fundamentalists who export violence.
Paris (France) | 17 June 2005The Algerian FLN has interpreted the appointment of Philippe Douste-Blazy as the new french Minister of Foreign Affairs as a provocation. He is, in fact, the coauthor of a law that recently redeemed the colonization of Algeria. After six years trying to review their memories about that stage, France incurs repeatedly in contradictory actions without admitting the magnitude of the crimes committed. The reconciliation between both shores of the Mediterranean depends, however, and above all, upon the French reconciliation with their own history.
