When it comes to water, Jordan is the fifth poorest country in the world. During recent years, its consumption has increased by 40% whilst its supply continues to decrease.
While this is going on, Israel has had to deal with an evaporating volume of water from River Jordan (the volume has reduced by half since 1950) and the drying up of the Dead Sea.
On 19 November 2018, King Abdallah II, King of Jordan, sent a Jordanian delegation to Israel, to present the proposals of Kingdom.

After the Daesh attack on the city of Palmyra, China renounced the traditional “silk route” (Bagdad, Palmyra, Damas-Tiro). An alternative trail had been envisaged, no longer across Syria but Turkey. This has also been abandoned.
During antiquity there was also a secondary route through Petra (Jordan) and Alexandra (Egypt). In the final analysis, the new Silk route should pass through Jordan then bifurcate with one branch leading to Egypt and the other in the direction of Israel.

by
Abdullah II of Jordan

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate,
Madam President,
Mr. Secretary General,
Your Excellencies,
Thank you. It is an honour to take part, once again, in this great General Assembly.
The United Nations was bom in the ashes of the Second World War, out of a deep desire to protect new generations from suffering, destmction, and want. Today, these hopes still face challenges; peace and stability have met threats in every region; too many people remain excluded from the (...)

We were wrong to believe that the US project for the Middle East was a peace plan for Palestine. Despite the communications from the White House, this is not what President Trump is seeking. He is approaching this question from a radically different angle than that of his predecessors – not attempting to render Justice between his vassals, as an emperor would, but to unblock the situation in order to improve the daily lives of the populations involved.

Throughout her voyage of the Levant, the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel (Angie), is presenting herself as a person with a good heart, who wants Germany to play its part to helping the Syrian refugees. But the people that she is speaking see her as a fallen angel, who is masking her true intentions which are to wage war against Syria.

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, made a surprise visit to Amman, the capital of Jordan. He was accompanied by the Head of Mossad, Yossi Cohen. The delegation was received by King Abdallah II.
According to our sources, the talks focussed on the establishment of pro-Iranian sources in the South of Syria and views were exchanged on the proposed US Peace Plan— before the arrival of the US delegation composed of Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt.
Israel and Jordan are looking on (...)

Prince Ali ben Al Hussein is the son of the former King Hussein and his third wife. He was the head of the Royal Guard. Whilst the United States was dreaming of re-establishing the monarchy in Iraq, Prince Ali had married a CNN journalist, Rym Brahimi. The latter is the daughter of Lakhdar Brahimi, who was at the time the UN Special Representative in Iraq. He was one of (...)

The Minister of Jordan in charge of press relations, Mohamed Momani, appeared on national television to show case the excellent relations his country has with Syria.
According to the United Nations, Jordan is providing a safe haven to 650 000 Syrian refugees. However Amman thinks that the actual number is probably more like 1.4 million; a huge population considered to balance out the Jordanian demographics where 80% of the inhabitants are Palestinian.
During the war, Jordan tried as far (...)

On the morning of 12 June, the official Press agency for the Jordanian government, Petra, published on its Internet site a Press release which reproduced the exclusive declarations of Prince Mohammed ben Salman of Saudi Arabia. However, at the moment when the Institute for Gulf Affairs (representing the Saudi opposition in Washington) was taking the case under consideration , the Petra Agency declared that its site had been hacked, and that they were not the authors of the release. The (...)

The same day (4 May) that the new Supreme Allied Commander in Europe - US General Curtis Scaparrotti - took office at Nato, appointed just like his 17 predecessors by the US President, the North Atlantic Council announced that an official Israeli mission would be established at Nato’s headquarters in Brussels. [This mission] will be headed by the Israeli ambassador for the EU.
So, Israel is even further integrated into Nato, to which it is already closely linked through the “Individual (...)

They are - Bahreïn, Israël, Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait.
The Emirates do not seem to have wished for their own office.
The announcement was held up by the Turco-Israëli negotiations, and published on the 4th May 2016, on the occasion of the investiture of the new Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), General Curtis M. (...)

The Pope’s statements in Turkey shocked Syrian refugees. Indeed, the head of the Catholic Church thanked Ankara for its assistance without referring to the context. The flight of the Syrian population was in fact caused by the military support provided to the jihadists, including by Turkey. In addition, the situation of refugees may turn to disaster after international food assistance as halted on 1 December. The UN thereby intends to punish the refugees, who, since the Syrian presidential election in June, have proven that far from being opposed to the Syrian Arab Republic they are overwhelmingly in favor.

China’s Ministry of State Security (Guoanbu) and the Jordanian General Intelligence Department (GID) have concluded an exchange of information agreement on the presence of Chinese nationals in Syria and Iraq.
The Chinese authorities strongly suspect that the Turkish national security agency, Millî İstihbarat Teşkilatı (MIT), mobilizes Turkic Uighurs, gives them jihad training in Syria and Iraq, and sends them back to perpetrate attacks in (...)

The Gulf Cooperation Council has invited Morocco and Jordan to form a military alliance.
In 2012, the GCC had presented the two monarchies with $ 5 billion to join the organization. It is now a matter of going one step further and placing the respective armies under a joint command, headed by prince Mutaib bin Abdullah, Minister of the Saudi Royal Guard .
The question of Egypt’s participation remains open, despite its republican political system.
The Joint Military Command, which should (...)

The French press has depicted President François Hollande’s trip to Qatar as an intent to normalize relations between the two countries. It highlights the development of relations with other Gulf states, the controversy over Qatar’s investment in the Muslim-populated suburbs of France and, finally, hones in on the prospect of lucrative contracts.
The foreign media, on the other hand, interpret the trip from a different angle. For them, Hollande’s jaunt to the Gulf is a facade for a tour (...)

The Muslim Brotherhood organized a large demonstration in Amman, on Friday, 5 October 2012, at the end of prayer. At first convened to prod the monarchy towards transformation, it soon rose to near-insurgency levels to the, by now classic, cry of "The people want the regime to go!".
The Muslim Brotherhood believe they enjoy Washington’s support to accede to power - with or without the consent of the king - since they have pledged not to challenge the separate peace between Egypt and Israel (...)
