The giant Apple Company decided to allow the publishing of a new App for the IPhone carrying the name “Third Intifada” despite Israeli pressures on the company to ban the app.

The new app is currently operational on the IPhone and can be downloaded from the App Store. It contains a variety of news items about Palestine and the Israeli occupation, pictures of Palestinians killed by the Israel, specialized news items about Jerusalem and more.

The app also has music and videos in addition to documentaries about the history of Palestine, including the Nabka of 1948.

In response, Israeli Communication Minister, Yuli Edelstein, sent a letter the head of Apple, Steve Jobs, demanding him to remove the App from the Apple store and ban it from the network. Edelstein claimed that the App is “anti-Israel” and “anti-Zionism” especially “due to its name, The Third Intifada”, and considered it targeting Israel’s existence.

Mr. Edelstein wrote: “I am convinced that you are aware of this type of application’s ability to unite many toward an objective that could be disastrous.”

It is worth mentioning that Edelstein is also lobbying against a Facebook [1] group carrying the same name.
