• The spokesperson for the Syrian National Council, Bassma Kodmani, gave an interview to the Journal du Dimanche, during which she took on the role of military strategist and projected defeat. She said the fighters are moving around all the time (which amounts to acknowledging that there are few of them) in the form of urban guerrilla warfare. They no longer seek to cluster as was the case in Baba Amr (and, consequently, they no longer aim to take power).

• The Gulf press widely relayed the news according to which Saudi Arabia is sending heavy weapons to Jordan to arm the Syrian rebellion.

• Our special mention goes to the Saudi daily Arab News. It’s front page headline accuses al-Assad’s thugs of having perpetrated the attacks in Damascus: But on an inside page, it reproduces press dispatches that attribute the attacks to the armed opposition.
