The Capitol Hill Blue, newspaper for the members of the Congress and their offices, revealed recently that a confidential memo is circulating among the officials of the Republican Party indicating the positive electoral consequences that new attacks against the United States might have.

The memo stresses that terrorist attacks on US soil could restore the image of President Bush and unite the people in “shock and sadness”, thus preserving the Republican Party from defeat during the next elections to the Congress in 2006.

There are three other situations addressed in the document: “the arrest of Osama Bin Laden, a drastic change in the economic policy of the president and a solution crowned with success in Iraq”.

Remember that, according to a poll conducted by Zogby International in New York, 49% of the people believe that the Bush administration deliberately allowed the 9/11 attacks to be perpetrated to adopt his policy. There are even some who think that the Bush administration masterminded them.
