Friendship-with-Cuba organizations in Vietnam took the opportunity of marking the 56 anniversary of the Assault on the Moncada Garrison to demand the release of the five Cuban antiterrorists unfairly imprisoned in the US.
In a ceremony held in Hanoi, organized by the Union of Friendship Organizations (UOAV) and the Rang Dong national industry, producer of light bulbs and other related items, the fraternal bonds of that county and Cuba were ratified.
The industry’s general director Nguyen Doan Thang talked about the importance of the historical action carried out on July 26, 1956, by a group of Cuban revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro and noted its impact on Latin America and the world, reported Prensa Latina.
Doan Thang reiterated the firm support of the fair revolutionary cause of the Cuban people and demanded the US to lift its economic blockade imposed on the island.
Likewise, he demanded the release from jail of the five Cubans who have been imprisoned since 1998 for having monitored terrorist anti-Cuba groups based in Florida.
Participating in the meeting was the business attaché of the Cuban embassy to Vietnam, Pablo Fernandez Alberto, who talked about the battles fought by the Cuban people and denounced the recent refusal of the US Supreme Court to review the case of the Cuban Five.
