First VP Calls for More Presence of Young Candidates in Upcoming Partial Elections

Machado Ventura on Sunday presided over the municipal meeting of the city of Santa Clara prior to the 9th Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC).

During the meeting, the Cuban leader and participants focused on topics related to the performance of the organization and its contribution to the historical continuity of the revolutionary process. Delegates also focused on the exemplary conduct of UJC members, the active role they should play, the training of youngsters to assume leading roles in the country in the future, and vocational training, among other issues.

“UJC members, as leaders of the Cuban youth, are responsible for the continuity of the Revolution. We do not have the least doubts that you will successfully face this challenge,” the Cuban official stressed.

Another important moment of the meeting was the selection of the Municipal Secretariat and of the delegation that will represent Santa Clara at the UJC Congress in April.
