Panamanian VP calls for Support to Cuba

Varela Rodriguez thanked Cuba for its support and noted Cubans have solidarity and cooperation as the guiding factor in their relations with other countries, especially in the health, sports, education and culture fields.

“This visit is to strengthen that cooperation” said the VP and added he carries a message from the Panamanian president and his people thanking Cuba for its help.

He said Panama wants to become an ambassador for Cuba to the world.

Bruno Rodriguez forwarded Cuba’s government and people acknowledgements to
Panama for having voted along in several international forums, defending freedom of commerce and sailing, supporting the international laws and against extraterritoriality of laws.

The Cuban Minister said this visit will boost the traditional friendly relations between the two countries, which established diplomatic relations on April 17, 1904. On December 13, 1961, they broke relations, to re-establish them again on August 20, 1974.

Nowadays, the two countries work in a friendly atmosphere.
