Tunisia becomes rear base for Pentagon’s Libya operations

On 30 September 2020, US Defense Secretary Mark Esper signed an important military agreement with his Tunisian counterpart, Ibrahim Bartagi.

The Roadmap for Defense Cooperation aims to turn Tunisia into the Pentagon’s rear base in Libya for the next ten years. It also enables AfriCom (US Africa Command, Stuttgart) to coordinate terrorist operations on African soil.
