On instructions from my Government, I should like to draw your attention to the following information regarding terrorist acts committed by armed terrorist groups active in Syrian territory during the month of May 2016:
3 May
– Some 19 people were killed and more than 65 others were injured, including women and children, when armed terrorist groups fired dozens of shells at Dubayt Hospital and other neighbourhoods in the city of Aleppo and its countryside.
– A civilian was killed when a mortar shell landed in Khan al-Shaykh in Rif Dimashq.
– A mortar shell landed in Dar‘a, injuring a civilian.
– A mortar shell landed in the Tahtuh neighbourhood in Dayr al-Zawr, injuring a civilian.
4 May
– Four civilians were killed and more than 15 others were injured, including women and children, when dozens of shells fell in several neighbourhoods of the city of Aleppo and its countryside.
– The terrorist Nusrah Front organization perpetrated a massacre in the village of Khuwayn in Idlib, killing 15 civilians, including four children.
5 and 6 May
– On Thursday, 12 civilians were killed and 40 injured when terrorist explosions occurred in the city of Upper Mukharram in the Homs countryside.
– Terrorist groups fired several shells at the Maydan neighbourhood in Aleppo, killing one civilian and injuring another. Material damage was caused.
– On 6 May, mortar shells fell in parts of Aleppo, injuring two civilians and causing material damage.
– On 5 May, a mortar shell fell in the Harabish neighbourhood in Dayr al-Zawr, injuring a civilian and causing material damage.
– On 6 May, three children were injured by shrapnel when a landmine left behind by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) organization exploded in the village of Hamra in the Shaddadi area of Hasakah.
7 May
– Two landmines planted by armed terrorist groups exploded in the city of Qamishli in Hasakah, killing two children.
– Shells landed in the Thawrah and Tahtuh neighbourhoods of Dayr al-Zawr, injuring six civilians, including two women.
– A mortar shell landed in Aleppo, injuring a child.
– A child was injured when five shells landed in the village of Masil in Hama.
8 May
– Five civilians were killed and 20 others injured, including children and women, when dozens of shells landed on residential neighbourhoods in Aleppo and its countryside.
– Some 10 shells landed on the Thawrah neighbourhood of Dayr al-Zawr, killing three civilians and injuring five others, including two children.
– Shells landed on the city of Fu‘ah in Idlib, killing a civilian and injuring two others.
9 May
– A woman was killed and a child was injured by sniper fire from armed terrorist groups in the town of Fu‘ah in Idlib.
– Mortar shells landed in Dayr al-Zawr, injuring eight civilians, including children and women.
– A shell landed on the town of Sayyidah Zaynab in Rif Dimashq, injuring a girl.
12 and 13 May
– Armed terrorist groups infiltrated the town of Zarah in the Hama countryside and perpetrated a massacre against the townspeople, killing and injuring dozens and abducting a number of others.
– A landmine planted by armed terrorist groups exploded in the village of Hasnu in Rif Dimashq, killing two children and injuring two others.
– A woman was killed and five civilians were injured, including two children, when mortar shells landed on several neighbourhoods in the city of Aleppo and its countryside.

– A mass grave was discovered near Masakin al-Jahiziyah on the Tadmur (Palmyra) — Dayr al-Zawr Road. It contained 44 bodies, including the bodies of 20 soldiers, 10 unidentified persons and 14 women and children.
– A mass grave was discovered inside a weapons depot in the city of Tadmur (Palmyra). The bodies of Colonel Muhammad Jawriyah (commander of the weapons depot) and Colonel Muhammad Makhluf were identified. Both had been killed during the attack by the ISIL terrorist organization on the city of Tadmur (Palmyra).
14 May
– A terrorist detonated a car bomb in the city of Qamishli, killing five civilians and injuring six others.
– A girl was killed and three others were injured, including two children, when a mortar shell landed on the city of Qamishli.
– Mortar shells landed in the Hamdaniyah and Salah al-Din areas of Aleppo, killing a civilian and injuring three others.
– A landmine planted by armed terrorist groups exploded in the village of Fadghami in Hasakah, injuring two civilians.
16 May
– Three children and a woman were killed during air attacks by the United States-led coalition on the city of Albu Kamal in the eastern Dayr al-Zawr countryside.
– Mortar shells landed in several neighbourhoods in the city of Aleppo, killing a child and injuring 16 others, including children and women.
– A landmine planted by armed terrorist groups exploded in the village of Jurmuz in Hasakah, injuring a child and a woman.
– Four shells landed in Damascus, injuring a child and a woman.

22 May
– A girl and a woman were killed and 13 others were injured, including children and women, when armed terrorist groups fired dozens of shells at neighbourhoods in the city of Aleppo and its countryside.
– Armed terrorist groups fired tank shells at the Panorama neighbourhood in the city of Dar‘a, injuring two children.
23 May
– Some 122 people were killed and 148 others injured, including women and children, when armed terrorist groups perpetrated four terrorist bombings in the city of Jablah. One of the bombings occurred in the emergency room of the National Hospital when a suicide terrorist blew himself up with an explosive vest among injured civilians who had been taken to hospital.
– Some 40 civilians were killed and 81 others injured, including women and children, when armed terrorist groups perpetrated three terrorist bombings in the city of Tartus.
– Shells fell on a number of neighbourhoods in the city of Aleppo, killing a woman and injuring seven others, including children and women.
– An unknown object planted by armed terrorist groups exploded in the village of Safsafiyah in the city of Hama, killing two women and injuring a woman and a child.
– Two civilians were killed and six others were injured when armed terrorist groups attacked the town of Kafraya in the city of Idlib.
24 May
– Shells landed in several parts of Aleppo, killing two civilians, including a woman, and injuring four others, including a child.
– A civilian was killed by sniper fire from armed terrorist groups in the Jam‘iyat al-Zahra area of Aleppo.
– Gunfire was exchanged in Damascus between terrorists in the Qabun area and terrorists in the Barzah area, injuring a civilian.
– A citizen was injured when armed terrorist groups detonated an explosive device in the Kiswah area of Rif Dimashq.
25 May
– Shells landed in several parts of Aleppo and its countryside, killing five civilians, including three women, and injuring 10 others, including children.
– A civilian was injured by sniper fire from armed terrorist groups located in Dayr al-Zawr.
26 and 27 May
– A mass grave was discovered in the area around Tadmur (Palmyra) airport. It contained 31 dead bodies, including children and women.
– Dozens of shells landed on several neighbourhoods in the city of Aleppo and its countryside, killing three civilians and injuring 18 others.
– A woman was killed by sniper fire from armed terrorist groups located in Dayr al-Zawr.
– A landmine exploded in the village of Tartiyah in Ladhiqiyah, killing a civilian and injuring two others.
– A mortar shell landed on the Hasakah sports complex, killing two children.
28 May
– Some 10 shells landed in several neighbourhoods of the city of Aleppo and its countryside, killing four civilians and injuring 27 others, including children and women.
– A woman was killed when a shell landed in Homs.
– Shells landed in the village of Rafi‘ah in Ladhiqiyah, injuring a civilian.
– A landmine planted by armed terrorist groups exploded in the city of Rahibiyah in Rif Dimashq, injuring a woman.
– Two mortar shells landed in Ashrafiyat Sahnaya in Rif Dimashq, injuring four civilians.
– A landmine planted by armed terrorist groups exploded in a civilian residential area in Hasakah, injuring a woman and a child.
29 May
– Five civilians were killed and more than 20 others were injured, including children and women, when dozens of shells landed on residential neighbourhoods in Aleppo and its countryside.
30 May
– Two civilians were killed and a woman and a child were injured when four mortar shells landed in the Assad suburb in Rif Dimashq.
– Four civilians, including a girl, were killed and 20 others were injured when dozens of shells landed in several neighbourhoods in the city of Aleppo and its countryside.
– A mortar shell landed in the Bab al-Siba‘ neighbourhood of Homs, injuring a woman.
31 May and 1 June
– Eight civilians were killed and 30 others were injured, including children and women, when shells landed on several neighbourhoods in the city of Aleppo and its countryside.
– Mortar shells landed on several neighbourhoods in Dayr al-Zawr, killing two civilians and injuring five others.
– Eight civilians were injured when armed terrorist groups fired several shells at the Fu‘ah and Kafraya areas of Idlib.
– Mortar shells fell on parts of Rif Dimashq, injuring a civilian and a child.
